How do we support people with disability?

“During the 2022 floods, I raised the issue of people with disability being stuck in units which received media attention. I was contacted by a journalist and gave her the names of several people I knew. One woman had to stay awake for two days because a support worker could not make it to her place in The Gap to fit her with a night time oxygen mark. She didn't sleep for fear of dying. A couple of other residents received no help, stuck in their units. One person was blind with no power and another person was wheelchair bound. So many more! It was devastating.”
