75% of the state declared a disaster zone

“The Queensland sub-tropical to tropical climate results in a wet season, which generally extends from October to April. As a result, there is a historical trend for floods to be more likely to occur during this period, however, floods can occur at any time… Queensland has a long history of flooding. In the past 20 years alone, the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) has reported more than 50 notable floods occurring across the State, including the flood events of 2010-2011 in which 75% of the State was declared a disaster zone.”
