Residents post evacuation routes online

“As editor of The Westender, I monitored all social media traffic during the flood. I could share the information posted by individuals, groups, government and elected reps. I got information about access to WIFI, food, and other resources as they came to hand. One of the most read posts was an evacuation route west of Montague Rd that residents had put together. Images, often posted on Instagram, were essential to getting information about the spread and impact of the flood.”
