Emergency services and community responders

State Emergency Service (SES) members are trained and equipped to help their communities and vulnerable people in emergency situations caused by floods and storms.  The 2022 floods delivered unprecedented demands on emergency services across Queensland and New South Wales. In some locations, the scale of flooding exceeded the capacity of emergency services. Instead, local community members evacuated and relocated people, or delivered supplies to people who were cut off.
