Loss of services

“My experience from the 2022 flood made me realise how ill-prepared boards of management and organisations are to deliver safe disaster and emergency planning for people with disabilities. Australians with disabilities experience first-hand significant impacts and disproportionate risks to safety and wellbeing during floods, including loss of services, supports, medical and basic needs, as well as physical and psychological injuries. We need more resources to improve disaster and emergency preparedness and responses for people with disabilities.”
