How can we care for the river?

“The Brisbane River is life. It helps us to survive if we coexist with it. Water supports life but also water can destroy life. We must not get to that stage where we’re contributing to water destroying life, by changing the way of the river. The river helps create who we are, but if we destroy habitats and nature the river will revolt. That’s why we get floods and other disasters. We have to look after the river, because the river will look after us. If we take care of Country, then Country will take care of us. It will bring you life, plants and we can live there in harmony with nature and the river.”
