Developer and councillor assurance

Tennyson apartment owners reported the developer, Mirvac, had assured them they wouldn’t flood. Prior to development, the site was engulfed by the 1974 flood. And in 2011, the river view apartments faced a billion-dollar flood recovery. One owner said councillors who were in the chamber the day the development application was voted on said it met all requirements. “A key Mirvac figure told me: “Developers build buildings to levels set by local authorities. End of story.””
