Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park

In 2012, a 2.7 km long concrete drainage canal in Singapore’s Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park was redesigned into a 3.2 km winding stream. Situated within a 62-hectare park, the stream serves a densely developed residential area. During downpours, the stream expands up to 100 metres wide before draining away into the landscape. Tourism has since doubled to 6 million visits a year, and the park’s biodiversity has increased by 30%.
