What makes you remember past floods?

“In 1974 I was living in my current residence in Avebury Street when the flood came up. The water came into our unit. We stayed in the unit throughout and afterwards everyone helped clean up. The most important thing was how everyone worked together to clean up and care for one another. As the flood receded, numerous items floated down the river one of which was a beautiful chest which I still have. I keep my tea towels in it and always think of that time.”
