We caused the flooding

“The redevelopment of this area with high-rise buildings has changed this environment. When it rains and the river is rising, there’s nowhere for the water to go. We have changed the course of nature and caused the damage. We caused the flooding, it wasn’t nature. There’s talk of putting up 90 storey buildings on an overburdened piece of land. Where’s the natural water going to flow?”
