River names

“There were Indigenous clan groups all along the river. They have different names for that part of the river like Meanjin or Maiwar. Other clan groups living further down would name the river again. Maiwar is widely used. The Brisbane River was named after the colonial former governor of New South Wales, Sir Thomas Brisbane.”
