Less carparks for apartments

The Brisbane City Council is planning to reduce carparks in new high density residential buildings. It aims to incentivise public and active transport alternatives. Limiting apartment basement carparks also mitigates exposing extra vehicles to flood risk. However, many residents with disability and mobility requirements rely on cars to move around. Limited parking creates challenges for support workers to find reliable, affordable and nearby parking.
