It was the locals who helped

“In 2022, many people were not as organised as 2011. The Mud Army was missing for many days as Council deliberated, planned, examined liability, and so on. It was the locals who helped with the clean up. Services went into full swing at West End Community House—vouchers, assistance payments, information, and emergency relief. The evacuation hubs were difficult to arrange, though AHEPA Hall run by Micah Projects worked. Local Councillor Jonathan Sriranganathan and State Member Amy McMahon worked hard on issues at the interface between Council, Energex, State, and community.”
