Blue-green infrastructure

As the climate changes, blue-green infrastructure is crucial to the wellbeing of our growing urban population. Blue infrastructure retains water, such as ponds and wetlands. Green infrastructure refers to gardens, forests, parks and open green space. Blue-green infrastructure reduces the burden on stormwater drainage systems to draw down floodwater. It can also create natural public spaces for people and animals.
